I don’t know why, but for the past few weeks my brain has simply not wanted to listen to music and look at anything at the same time. Everything feels like too much at once, you know?
However, I do intend to watch Handel’s Partenope in the near future. It’s a Danish Opera production with Andreas Scholl in it, as well as Cristophe Dumaux, who I heard live a while back as Tolomeo in Giulio Cesare. I am afraid it might be one of those Handel operas that sound a great deal like a lot of other Handel operas.
And the first person who says “you mean, it’s a Handel opera?” gets the hook. The less famous ones only sound like they all sound alike.
